Smart Exit in FYERS is a risk management feature that allows traders to set overall profit and loss limits across all open positions. When these levels are reached, the system either exits positions automatically (Smart Exit) or sends a notification for manual action (Smart Exit Alert). This helps traders stay disciplined and avoid missing crucial exit points.
In Smart Exit
Smart Exit will automatically close multiple positions once the set Book Profit or Max Loss is hit.
- Covers all open positions including Margin Trading Facility (MTF).
- Excludes Equity Delivery.
- Ideal for hedging strategies or multi-position portfolios.
Example: If you set a Book Profit of ₹2,000 and Max Loss of ₹1,000, FYERS will automatically close your positions once either threshold is hit.
In Smart Exit Alert
Smart Exit Alert only sends a notification when limits are reached. You must decide whether to exit manually.
- Works with absolute P&L values, not percentages.
- Sends push notification “Smart Exit Triggered”.
- Gives flexibility if you want more control.
Example: You set thresholds of ₹500 profit and ₹200 loss. When reached, FYERS notifies you, but your positions remain open until you act.

Best for | Automated risk management | Flexible manual decisions |

Important: In highly volatile markets, the actual exit price may differ slightly from the set Smart Exit threshold due to order execution
slippage.
What If...
Scenario | What Happens |
---|
I have Equity Delivery positions | Smart Exit and Smart Exit Alert are not available for Equity Delivery holdings. |
The market moves too quickly | Execution may happen at the next available price, not exactly at the threshold. |
I only want alerts, not exits | Use Smart Exit Alert to receive notifications but keep control. |
I want to set it up in the App or Web | You can configure both via the Positions tab in FYERS App or Web. |
