What Is the Retest Feature in Smart Exit on FYERS?

The Retest Stop-Loss & Target feature allows Smart Exit to confirm price movement before triggering an action. Instead of executing immediately when your defined Target or Stop-loss level is crossed, Smart Exit waits for the level to be re-tested within a selected time.

This helps reduce exits caused by temporary price spikes or short-term volatility.

Retest Works

When Retest is enabled:

  • Your overall account-level P&L must first cross the defined Target or Stop-loss level.
  • Smart Exit then waits for the P&L to re-test that same level.
  • The re-test must occur within the selected real-time duration (1 to 50 seconds).
  • If the re-test happens within the selected time, Smart Exit triggers based on your chosen mode (Exit or Alert Only).
  • If the re-test does not occur within the selected duration, Smart Exit will not trigger.

Time is measured in real-time seconds and not based on chart timeframes.

Steps to Enable Retest

On FYERS App

  • Go to Portfolio.
  • Tap Positions overview.
  • Tap Smart Exit.
  • Enter your Stop-loss and/or Target values.
  • Enable Retest Stop-Loss & Target.
  • Select the confirmation duration (1–50 seconds).
  • Tap Activate or Modify to save changes.

On FYERS Web

  • Go to Portfolio.
  • Click Positions.
  • Click Smart Exit.
  • Enter your Stop-loss and/or Target values.
  • Enable Retest Stop-Loss & Target.
  • Select the confirmation duration (1–50 seconds).
  • Click Activate or Modify.

The updated configuration becomes effective immediately.

Important Notes

  • Retest works at the overall account P&L level, not per individual position.
  • It applies to both Target and Stop-loss conditions.
  • If Exit mode is selected, eligible positions are closed using a Market order with Protection (MPP) once retest conditions are satisfied.
  • If Alert Only is selected, only a notification is sent.
  • Retest remains active across trading days as long as Smart Exit remains active.
