What Is Trail Stop-Loss in Smart Exit on FYERS?

Trail stop-loss allows your stop-loss level to automatically move upward as your overall profit increases. It helps you lock in gains while still allowing room for further upside.

Trail stop-loss works at the account level and is based on your overall P&L (absolute ₹ value), not on individual positions.

Trail Stop-Loss Works

When trail stop-loss is enabled:

  • You set an initial stop-loss amount.
  • You define a trailing jump value (₹).
  • Every time your overall P&L increases by the defined jump amount, the stop-loss moves upward by the same amount.
  • The stop-loss moves only in the favourable direction and never moves downward.
  • As profits increase, your maximum allowable loss reduces progressively.

Steps to Enable Trail Stop-Loss

On FYERS App

  • Go to Portfolio.
  • Tap Positions overview.
  • Tap Smart Exit.
  • Enter your stop-loss value.
  • Enable Trail stop-loss.
  • Enter the trailing jump amount (₹).
  • Tap Activate or Modify.

On FYERS Web

  • Go to Portfolio.
  • Click Positions.
  • Click Smart Exit.
  • Enter your stop-loss value.
  • Enable Trail stop-loss.
  • Enter the trailing jump amount (₹).
  • Click Activate or Modify.

Changes take effect immediately.

Important Notes

  • Trail applies only to the stop-loss, not the target.
  • It works on overall account-level P&L, not per position.
  • It uses absolute ₹ values, not percentages.
  • The stop-loss moves only upward and never decreases.
  • Trail remains active across trading days as long as Smart Exit remains active.
