How to transfer shares and mutual fund units via CDSL Easiest on FYERS?

If you wish to transfer shares or mutual fund units held in your FYERS CDSL Demat account to another Demat account, you can do it easily through the CDSL Easiest portal. This allows you to make secure off-market transfers online without using physical DIS slips or visiting a branch.

Steps to transfer via CDSL Easiest

1. Log in to CDSL Easiest

2. Set up the transaction

  • Go to Transaction → Setup → Bulk Setup → Transaction.
  • Enter the Execution Date and the recipient’s Beneficiary Owner ID (BO ID).
  • For inter-depository transfers (CDSL → NSDL), select the inter-depository option.

3. Add securities

  • Search and add the ISIN(s) of the securities you want to transfer.
    • Shares — select the stock’s ISIN.
    • Mutual funds — select the ISIN for the exact scheme/plan/option (each scheme/plan/option has a unique ISIN).
  • Enter Quantity:
    • Shares → number of shares
    • Mutual funds → number of units
  • Choose the Reason for transfer (e.g., Gift, Family, Self).

4. Verify and commit

  • Click Submit → Verify (leave Exchange and Market Type blank for off-market transfers).
  • Click Commit, complete OTP verification, and enter your CDSL Easiest PIN.

5. Track status

Once submitted, your request will be processed by your Depository Participant (FYERS). You can log in again to CDSL Easiest to monitor the status of your transfer.

Notes

  • Mutual funds: demat only. Transfers apply only to MF units held in demat (ISIN) with CDSL. Units in SOA (Statement of Account) cannot be transferred via CDSL. To convert SOA units to demat (destatementisation), kindly refer to this article.
  • Check holdings before transfer: Only free securities (not pledged, locked, or under settlement) can be transferred.
  • Recipient details: Ensure the recipient’s 16-digit BO ID is correct — incorrect details will cause rejection.
  • Inter-depository transfers: For CDSL → NSDL, choose the inter-depository option and confirm the recipient Demat can receive those ISINs.
  • Charges & taxes: Off-market transfers may attract DP charges as per your tariff. Stamp duty applies only if the transfer is with consideration; gifts are usually exempt.
