What is Time vs OI in Options Analytics?

Time vs OI in Options Analytics shows how Open Interest (OI), price, and related option metrics change over time at fixed intervals for a selected underlying and expiry.

Instead of comparing strikes, this view lets you track market activity chronologically, helping you understand how participation and sentiment evolve during the trading session.

Available on FYERS Web and FYERS App.

What does Time vs OI show?

Time vs OI presents time-stamped data in a tabular format, updated at the selected interval (for example, every 5 minutes).

Depending on the selected view, it can show:

  1. Difference in OI & PCR
    • Net change in Open Interest over time
    • Corresponding Put Call Ratio (PCR) values
    • Percentage change for quick comparison
  2. Underlying LTP over time
    • Underlying price (LTP) at each time interval
    • Absolute and percentage price change
  3. Total OI breakdown
    • Total OI
    • Total Call OI
    • Total Put OI
    • Incremental changes for each value

Each row represents a snapshot at a specific time during the trading session.

How to use Time vs OI?

Use Time vs OI to:

  • Track how Open Interest builds or reduces during the day
  • Observe changes in PCR over time
  • Compare price movement vs OI behaviour
  • Identify periods of increased or reduced participation

This view is useful for session-level analysis, not for strike-specific decision-making.

  • PCR and OI values can change rapidly during volatile periods
