What is OI Change in Options Analytics?

OI Change in Options Analytics shows how Open Interest (OI) has changed across option strikes for the selected underlying and expiry over a chosen time interval.

This view helps you quickly compare Call OI vs Put OI changes across strikes, making it easier to understand where participation is increasing or decreasing. You can also place trades directly from this screen.

Available on FYERS Web and FYERS App.

What does OI Change show?

OI Change displays a visual comparison of Open Interest change across strikes for the selected underlying and expiry.

Typically, this view helps you:

  • See which strikes have gained or lost OI
  • Compare Call-side vs Put-side OI changes
  • Understand how OI is distributed around the current market price

The data updates based on the selected interval and expiry.

How to use OI Change

  • Identify where fresh positions are being added
  • Spot areas of OI reduction or unwinding
  • Compare Call and Put activity across multiple strikes at a glance
  • Track how OI behaviour shifts as price moves

This view is best used as a visual overview, and can be combined with Option Chain, OI Interpretation, and Market Depth for deeper analysis.

Steps to access OI Change

On FYERS App

  1. Go to Options
  2. Tap Analytics
  3. Under OI statistics, tap OI Change
  4. Choose the Underlying, Expiry, and Interval

On FYERS Web

  1. Go to Options
  2. Select Analytics
  3. Under OI statistics, click OI Change
  4. Choose the Underlying, Expiry, and Interval

Steps to place trades from OI Change

From the strike view, you can:

  • Tap/click B to place a Buy order
  • Tap/click S to place a Sell order
  • You may also be able to access actions like Option chain or Market depth from the available controls, depending on the platform and build version.

Example

If Call OI increases significantly at certain strikes while Put OI reduces, the OI Change view will reflect this difference across those strikes for the selected interval.

Important notes

  • OI Change shows relative changes, not total Open Interest
  • Not all strikes may show meaningful change at all times
  • The view updates dynamically as market data changes
  • OI Change is informational and should be used along with other analytics before placing trades
