What is the ATM IV Chart in Options Analytics?

What is the ATM IV Chart in Options Analytics?

The ATM IV Chart shows how the At-The-Money (ATM) Implied Volatility (IV) of the selected underlying changes over time, alongside the underlying price.

It helps you track volatility behaviour at the ATM strike during the trading session.

This is an analysis-only chart and does not allow order placement.

What does the ATM IV Chart display?

The chart plots multiple data points over time:

  • ATM IV
The implied volatility of the current ATM option
  • Underlying Price
The spot/index price at the same time
  • ATM Strike
The strike price was considered ATM at that moment
  • ATM Straddle Value
Combined premium of ATM Call + ATM Put

All values update dynamically as:

  • Price moves
  • ATM strike changes
  • Time progresses

How is the ATM strike determined?

The ATM strike is automatically selected based on the underlying price at each time interval.

As the underlying price moves, the ATM strike may change, and the chart reflects this automatically.

No manual strike selection is required.

How to read the ATM IV Chart?

  • The IV line shows how implied volatility is rising or falling during the session
  • The price line shows the corresponding movement in the underlying
  • The tooltip (on tap/hover) displays:
    • ATM IV value
    • Underlying price
    • ATM strike
    • ATM straddle value
    • Timestamp

This allows you to observe how volatility behaves relative to price movement.

Time resolution options

You can change the chart resolution to view data at different intervals:

  • 1 Minute
  • 5 Minutes
