What is OI Drops in Options Analytics?

OI Drops in Options Analytics highlights option strikes that are showing a sharp decrease in Open Interest (OI) over the selected time interval.

This view helps you identify where positions are being reduced or exited in the selected underlying and expiry. You can also place trades directly from this screen.

Available on FYERS Web and FYERS App.

What does OI Drops show?

OI Drops displays option strikes of the selected underlying and expiry where Open Interest has reduced significantly during the chosen interval.

The data is presented under two views:

  • Losers by OI – strikes with a notable decrease in Open Interest
  • Losers by premium – strikes with a sharp drop in option price (premium)

Each row typically shows:

  • Strike (CE/PE)
  • Last traded price and price change
  • Total Open Interest
  • Change in OI for the selected interval
  • Volume

Only strikes that meet internal significance criteria appear in this view.

How to use OI Drops

  • Identify where existing positions may be getting unwound
  • Spot loss of interest in specific strikes
  • Compare behaviour across call and put options
  • Understand whether the activity is shifting away from certain strikes

This view is useful for monitoring exits or reduced participation, and should be used along with the Option Chain and Market Depth for deeper analysis.
