What is OI Spurts in Options Analytics?

OI Spurts in Options Analytics highlights option strikes that are showing a sudden and significant increase in Open Interest (OI) over a selected time interval. This view helps you quickly identify unusual or fresh activity in specific strikes of the chosen underlying and expiry.

You can also place trades directly from this screen. This feature is available on FYERS Web and the FYERS App.

What does OI Spurts show?

OI Spurts displays option strikes of the selected underlying and expiry where Open Interest or option premium has increased sharply compared to recent activity.

The data is presented under two views:

Each strike row shows key details such as:

  • Strike (Call / Put)
  • Price and price change
  • Total Open Interest
  • Change in OI for the selected interval
  • Volume

Only strikes that meet internal significance criteria appear in OI Spurts.
