How to gift securities on FYERS

At FYERS, you can gift stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, T-Bills, G-Secs, and SDLs securely. You can initiate a gift request from your holdings and complete the transfer after CDSL validation.

Note: Ensure to complete the BO linking process before initiating a gift transfer.

Steps to gift securities on FYERS App

  1. Go to Portfolio and navigate to Holdings.
  2. Click on the Gift symbol.
  3. Enter the receiver's registered mobile number.
  4. Add a gift note and click Continue.
  5. Review and confirm the masked details of the receiver shown for security.
  6. Choose the quantities of stocks, ETFs, or mutual funds you wish to gift.
  7. Review the summary.
  8. Tick the checkbox confirming that you have completed BO Linking.
  9. Submit the gifting request.

Steps to gift securities on FYERS Web

  1. Go to the Portfolio section and navigate to Holdings.
  2. Tap the Gift symbol.
  3. Enter the receiver's registered mobile number.
  4. Add a gift note and click Continue.
  5. Review and confirm the masked details of the receiver shown for security purposes.
  6. Select the quantities of stocks, ETFs, or mutual funds you wish to gift.
  7. Review the gifting summary.
  8. Tick the checkbox confirming that you have completed BO Linking.
  9. Submit the gifting request.

CDSL validation and credit timeline

A CDSL validation message will be sent after 7 PM, which will be valid till 11 PM. Complete the validation to process the gifting request via the OTP which will be sent from CDSL.

Once the validation is successful, the stocks will be credited on the next trading day.

What If?

What if I miss the CDSL validation message?If you do not complete the CDSL validation within the required time, the gifting request will not be processed. You will need to initiate the gift request again.
What if the CDSL validation fails?If the validation fails, the gift transfer will not be completed. Recheck the details and initiate a fresh gifting request.
What if the gifted securities do not reflect on the next trading day?Once CDSL validation is successful, the securities are credited on the next trading day. If they do not reflect, check whether the next day is a trading day, as the gifting feature is unavailable on weekends and market holidays.
What if I want to gift pledged securities?Pledged securities cannot be gifted. Only holdings without lock-in and unpledged securities are eligible for gifting.
