What is Pre-Market and how can I place the order during that time?
The pre-market session allows investors to place equity orders just before the regular market opens. It’s a short window where you can queue your trades in advance so that they are eligible for early matching once live trading begins.
What is the Pre-Market session?
The pre-market (or pre-open) session runs from 9:00 AM to 9:08 AM on trading days for both the NSE and BSE. This session is used to absorb overnight news, reduce volatility at open, and determine the opening price.
What orders are allowed in Pre-Market?
Allowed:
- Regular Intraday and Delivery orders in the Equity segment
Not allowed:
- Bracket Orders (BO), Cover Orders (CO), and Scheduled Orders
- F&O, Currency, or Commodity segment orders
How to place an order during Pre-Market
- Log in to FYERS Web or Mobile.
- Search and select the equity scrip.
- Choose “Intraday” or “Overnight” order type.
- Place your order between 9:00 AM and 9:08 AM.
These orders may be matched and executed based on demand and supply at open. If not matched in pre-market, they carry forward to regular market hours.

I want to trade commodities in the morning | Commodity markets do not support pre-market trading through FYERS. |
