A dormant trading account is one with no activity for 24 consecutive months. As per SEBI regulations, such accounts are temporarily disabled to protect investors and maintain compliance. If your FYERS account becomes dormant, trading is blocked until reactivation is completed.
Important: Reactivation requires quick KYC verification. Trading access resumes only after approval.
When Is an Account Considered Dormant
Your FYERS account is marked dormant if none of the following take place for 24 months:
- No trading or participation in corporate actions such as OFS, buybacks, or open offers
- No IPO, SGB, or mutual fund applications through the exchange
- No KYC detail updates (email, mobile, or address) that are recorded with FYERS and updated in KRA
If any of the above occur within 24 months, the account remains active.

Reactivation Process for Individual Accounts
A reactivation screen appears automatically during login on FYERS App or FYERS Web if the account is dormant.
On FYERS App
- Open the FYERS App and log in.
- Tap the Reactivate Account prompt on the dormant screen.
- Select employment type and income, then tap Continue.
Verify via DigiLocker:
- Enter Aadhaar number and OTP
- Enter 6-digit PIN
- Take a live selfie and provide signature
- Tap Proceed to complete e-Sign

On FYERS Web
Processing time: 4 to 5 working days.
Reactivation Process for Non-Individual Accounts
For Corporate, HUF, or NRI accounts, reactivation is completed offline.
- Request the reactivation form from FYERS Support.
- Fill and sign the form.
- Attach self-attested copies of PAN and Aadhaar.
