How do I switch to a previous app version

How do I switch to a previous app version

If you moved to the all-new FYERS app and want to go back temporarily, you can install a previous Android APK outside Google Play. This article explains when it’s advisable, the risks, and the exact steps to follow.

Note: We recommend staying on the latest FYERS app for the best stability, security patches, and access to new features (e.g., Mutual Funds, IPO, FIA).
Important (risk): Sideloading APKs bypasses Play Protect. Older builds may lack security updates, become incompatible with newer services, or miss regulatory changes. Proceed only if necessary and only with an official FYERS APK link.

Scope and eligibility

  • Available on: Android (APK sideload).
  • Not available on: iOS (App Store does not support installing older versions).
Tip: If you downgrade, turn off auto-updates for FYERS in Google Play to avoid automatic re-upgrades. Re-enable when you’re ready to return to the latest app.

Steps to switch to the previous FYERS app (Android)

  1. Uninstall the current app: Long-press FYERS → App infoUninstall. (You cannot keep old and new apps side-by-side.)
  2. Download the official APK: Get the previous FYERS APK.
  3. Allow installs from this source: When prompted, enable Install unknown apps for your browser/file-manager (path varies by device/brand).
  4. Install: Open your Downloads or file-manager, tap the APK, and complete installation.
  5. Sign in & verify: Open FYERS, sign in, complete 2FA/biometrics, and check watchlists/alerts.
Note: Only use the official FYERS APK link above to avoid tampering or malware risks.
Important: Some new modules may not work on older builds; certain screens or orders could behave differently after a downgrade.

Troubleshooting

  • “App not installed”: Remove the current FYERS app first, ensure storage is available, and retry.
  • Blocked by security settings: Enable Install unknown apps for your browser/file-manager and try again.
  • Play Store keeps updating: On FYERS app page in Play Store → More (⋮) → turn Enable auto-update off.
  • Performance issues after downgrade: Older builds may be less optimized for your OS. Consider returning to the latest app for stability and fixes.
