Why does the app update frequently

Why does the app update frequently?

The FYERS app is updated regularly to deliver new features, security patches, and performance improvements. This article explains our update cadence, what typically changes in a release, and how you can manage updates on your device.

Note: You control when to update. However, the latest version generally offers the most stable experience and the newest fixes.

Our release cadence

  • Regular updates: Incremental releases that ship bug fixes, small enhancements, and performance optimizations.
  • Feature releases: Larger updates that introduce new capabilities or UI changes.
  • Hotfixes: Targeted fixes rolled out quickly when a critical issue is identified.
Tip: If you prefer fewer interruptions, enable auto-updates over Wi-Fi so updates install in the background when you’re not trading.

What’s usually included in an update

  • Security patches: Updates to libraries and platform components to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Stability/performance: Crash fixes, memory and network optimizations, faster start-up and chart loads.
  • Feature improvements: New tools, order/portfolio enhancements, and UX refinements.
  • Compliance changes: Regulatory or exchange-driven updates that may be time-bound.
Important: Older app versions can miss critical patches or become incompatible with newer OS or backend services, which may impact reliability.

How to manage updates on your device

Android

  • Update now: Open Google Play → FYERS → Update.
  • Enable auto-updates: Play Store → FYERS → More (⋮) → Enable auto-update (or Settings → Network preferences → Auto-update apps).
  • Pause auto-updates: Set Auto-update apps to Don’t auto-update, and update manually when convenient.

iOS

  • Update now: Open App Store → Updates → FYERS → Update.
  • Enable auto-updates: Settings → App Store → App Updates (On). Optionally enable Automatic Downloads.
  • Pause auto-updates: Turn off App Updates and update manually from the App Store.

Troubleshooting

  • Update fails or stuck: Check stable internet, free storage, then retry. On Android, clear Play Store cache/data and reboot.
  • “Incompatible device”: Your OS may be below the supported version. Consider updating your OS or using FYERS on desktop web.
  • Enterprise-managed device: IT policy may block updates—contact your administrator.
