Why can’t I install or update the mobile app?

Why you can’t install or update the FYERS app (device/OS requirements & fixes)

If Google Play shows “incompatible” or the FYERS app won’t install/update, your device likely doesn’t meet the minimum Android requirement. Use the steps below to check your OS version and see alternatives.

Note: FYERS requires Android 7.0 (Nougat, API 24) or higher for installs and updates via Google Play.

Device/OS support

  • Supported: Android 7.0 and above (e.g., 7.1, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 as applicable).
  • Not supported: Android 6.x and below.

Impact for Android users

  • Devices on Android 7.0 or higher: You can install and receive updates from Google Play as usual.
  • Devices on Android 6.x or lower:
    • You can’t install the FYERS app from the Play Store.
    • If already installed, you won’t receive updates and may see compatibility messages.
    • Certain security/login checks may fail on unsupported versions.
Note (iOS): FYERS iOS app support remains unaffected.

Steps to check (& update) your Android version

  1. Check your version: Open SettingsAbout phone (or About device) → Android version. Confirm it shows 7.0 or higher.
  2. Update your device (if available): Go to SettingsSystemSystem update (labels vary by brand). Install any available updates.
  3. Alternate access (if unsupported): Use FYERS Web or FYERS Trader on desktop web browsers. FYERS Web is not supported on mobile browsers.

Troubleshooting

  • Play Store still shows “incompatible” on Android 7+: Clear Play Store cache/data, reboot, and try again. Ensure Google Play Services is updated.
  • Can’t update due to storage: Free up space (apps/photos), then retry the update.
  • Enterprise-managed device: Your IT policy may block installs/updates. Contact your administrator.
  • Rooted/modified device: Security checks may fail on modified OS builds; use a compliant device.
  • Manufacturer hasn’t provided updates: If your device is stuck on Android 6.x, consider a supported device or use FYERS on desktop web as an alternative.
