Why is a scanned signature required if I’m e-signing documents?
All applicants must provide a signature during the FYERS account opening process. This step is mandatory under SEBI's KYC guidelines and is required even if you're completing the application via Aadhaar-based e-Sign. You can either upload a scanned signature or use the digital signature option provided on the platform.
Signature verification ensures compliance with KYC regulations
As part of account validation, FYERS compares your provided signature with the one linked to your PAN record. This step helps prevent identity mismatches and fraudulent accounts. If your signature does not match or is unclear, the application will be rejected, and you’ll be asked to resubmit.
This verification applies to all clients—whether new to KYC or already verified with a KRA.
Accepted ways to submit your signature
You can choose either of the following:
- Upload a scanned signature: Write your signature on plain white paper using blue or black ink. Take a clear scan or photo and upload it during signup.
- Use the digital signature pad: Sign directly on the FYERS platform using your mouse, stylus, or touch input in the space provided.
Both options are valid, and the platform will guide you depending on your device and KYC path.
Guidelines for scanned signature submissions
- Use plain white paper and avoid lined or colored backgrounds
- Sign clearly in blue or black ink
- Avoid shadows, blur, or filters in the image
- Upload only the signature section—not full forms or IDs
Tips to protect your signature image (optional)
- Strike off unused space: Cross out empty portions of the page
- Add a usage note: Write “For the purpose of opening an account with FYERS Securities Private Limited only.”
- Use both measures together for maximum security
What if…
Scenario | What you should know |

Your signature does not match PAN records | Upload a correct signature or update it with NSDL before reapplying. |
You uploaded a blank or poor-quality image | The application may be rejected. Use a sharp, well-lit scan or use the in-app digital signature option. |
Your application was rejected due to a signature mismatch | FYERS will notify you with re-upload instructions through the support channel. |
