What do the price stats (Open, High, Low, Close, Volume) in FYERS tell me?
In the Overview tab of FYERS Symbol Details, the Price Stats section shows Open, High, Low, Close (OHLC) and Volume.
These values help you gauge intraday movement, volatility, and participation before you dive deeper into charts or fundamentals.
Explanation of Price Stats
- Open – The price at which the stock started trading when the market opened today.
- High – The highest price reached so far during today’s session.
- Low – The lowest price touched during today’s session.
- Close – The last traded price from the previous trading day’s close (shown during market hours).
- Volume – Total number of shares traded so far in today’s session.
How to interpret Price Stats in FYERS
- Gap vs. previous Close – If today’s Open is much higher/lower than yesterday’s Close, it signals a gap-up/gap-down, often driven by overnight news or sentiment.
- High–Low range – A wide range indicates higher intraday volatility; a tight range suggests a quiet, range-bound day.
- Close position – When the session ends, a Close near the day’s High implies sustained buying; near the Low implies sustained selling.
- Volume context – Rising prices on high Volume indicates stronger participation/conviction; big price moves on thin Volume may be less reliable.
What if?
| Scenario | Interpretation |
|---|
| Open is much higher than previous Close | Gap-up open; bullish overnight sentiment or news-driven move. |
| High and Low are very close | Low volatility day; price stayed in a narrow range. |
| Large price move on low Volume | Weak participation; consider waiting for confirmation with higher Volume. |
