Can NRIs invest in Bonds on FYERS (G-Secs, T-Bills, SDLs, Corporate Bonds, SGBs)?

Yes, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) can invest in Government Securities (G-Secs), Treasury Bills (T-Bills), State Development Loans (SDLs), and certain Corporate Bonds through FYERS. However, restrictions apply to Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs). The investment must be routed through an NRO (Non-Resident Ordinary) Non-PIS account.

Requirements for NRI investment

  • Account type: NRO Non-PIS trading and Demat account with FYERS
  • Eligible instruments: G-Secs, T-Bills, SDLs, Corporate Bonds (SGBs restricted)
  • Mode of payment: Funds must be routed through the NRO account

FYERS facilitates the application and trading process for NRIs holding the appropriate account setup.
