Can clients switch between two different schemes of the same AMC on FYERS

Can clients switch between two different schemes of the same AMC on FYERS?

FYERS currently does not support direct switch transactions between mutual fund schemes—even if both schemes belong to the same Asset Management Company (AMC). Instead, clients must manually redeem units from one scheme and invest the proceeds into another.

Switch transactions on FYERS

A switch is typically a one-click transfer between two schemes of the same AMC, commonly used for portfolio rebalancing or moving between plan variants (e.g., equity to debt). While many AMCs support switch orders via their platforms, FYERS operates as an order-routing service and processes redemptions and purchases separately.

To move funds from one scheme to another:

  1. Redeem units from the current scheme.
  2. Wait for the redemption payout to reflect in your bank account.
  3. Place a fresh purchase order into the new scheme.

This process does not preserve NAV continuity or transaction time alignment like a direct switch would.

ScenarioExplanation
You want to switch from debt to equity within the same AMCPlace a redemption in the debt scheme and invest separately into the equity scheme.
You are rebalancing based on AMC adviceFollow a redeem-then-invest approach manually. FYERS will not handle scheme-switch logic automatically.
You expected switch to maintain same-day NAVNAV applicability will differ between redemption and re-investment unless processed on the same day within cut-off.
You are trying to use SIP switch optionsSIP switches are not available. Cancel the existing SIP and set up a new one in the preferred scheme.
Before executing a manual switch, consider tax implications such as short-term capital gains on redemption. Redeem and re-invest are treated as a separate transaction.
