What is the Sector Heatmap in FYERS and how is it different from the regular Heatmap?

The Sector Heatmap in FYERS is designed for quick, high-level sector analysis, while the regular Heatmap is built for detailed and fully customisable stock-level analysis. Although both may appear visually similar, their purpose and flexibility are intentionally different.

How to access the Sector Heatmap

You can access the Sector Heatmap from both the FYERS App and FYERS Web by following these steps:

FYERS App

  1. Open the FYERS App
  2. Tap on Markets
  3. Select Analytics
  4. Open Sector Heatmap

FYERS Web

  1. Go to https://fyers.in/web
  2. Click on Markets
  3. Select Analytics
  4. Open Sector Heatmap

Within this section, you can switch between the Sector Heatmap and Sector Bubble Chart views.

Key difference in purpose

The regular Heatmap allows deep analysis by letting you customise block size, block colour, and sensitivity using multiple financial and performance parameters. It is suited for analysing individual stocks in detail.

The Sector Heatmap, on the other hand, is meant for fast and consistent sector comparison. To keep the view simple and easy to interpret:

  • Block size is always based on sector market capitalisation
  • Block colour is always based on price change (%) for the selected timeframe
  • Advanced customisation options available in the regular Heatmap are not provided here

This makes the Sector Heatmap ideal for identifying leading and lagging sectors before drilling down into individual stocks.

What If?

If you are wondering...Here’s what you need to know
Why can’t I change block size or block colour in the Sector Heatmap? The Sector Heatmap is intentionally kept fixed to ensure quick and consistent comparison across sectors. Customisation is available in the regular Heatmap.
Is something missing or broken in this view? No. The limited controls are by design and are not a technical issue.
Where should I go for detailed or custom analysis?Use the regular Heatmap or Bubble Chart under Market Analytics for advanced, multi-parameter analysis.
