What is the expiry or deactivation period for trading and Demat accounts?

FYERS trading and Demat accounts do not have an expiry date. Once opened, your account remains valid indefinitely, unless you choose to close it or it becomes inactive due to regulatory conditions.

Can my account become inactive?

Yes. If there is no trading activity for 12 consecutive months, your FYERS trading account may be marked as inactive (dormant) in accordance with NSE and BSE circulars. This is a regulatory safeguard designed to protect investor accounts that are not actively used.

While your account does not expire, trading access will be restricted once it is marked inactive. You must reactivate it before placing new trades.

If you return within 2 years: No re-KYC or In-Person Verification (IPV) is required.
If more than 2 years have passed: You will need to complete additional verification steps.

To reactivate your account, follow the steps in this article.

Is there any AMC for my Demat account?

No. FYERS offers zero Annual Maintenance Charges (AMC) for Demat accounts. You can keep your Demat account open at no cost, even during extended periods of inactivity.

Tip: To avoid dormancy, log in periodically or place at least one trade every 12 months.
