KRA stands for KYC Registration Agency. Registered with SEBI under the KYC Registration Agency Regulations, 2011, KRAs centrally maintain investors’ KYC records on behalf of SEBI-registered intermediaries. The KYC process verifies a customer’s identity and details, which is mandatory to open a trading and Demat account at FYERS.
Understanding Your KYC Status
KYC On-Hold
Your KYC may be placed on hold for the following reasons:
- Email/Mobile not validated: Validate your email or mobile number by following the steps in this article.
- PAN not linked with Aadhaar: Link PAN and Aadhaar via the Income Tax Department website.
- Document issues: If KYC is on hold due to document discrepancies, please wait while the review is completed. You’ll be notified if additional documents are required.
Important: Accounts with on-hold KYC cannot be activated until the issue is resolved.
KYC Rejected
KYC can be rejected due to issues with the submitted documents.
Action Needed:
- Wait for the rectification update. If additional documents are required, you will be notified.
- If you wish to re-KYC: Go to https://fyers.in/web/ → Personal Details → KYC Details → Edit. Enter the OTP sent to your registered email and mobile number, then complete the process using DigiLocker. (For the complete step-by-step process, refer to this article.) Once your KYC status changes to Validated, you can resume trading and investing.

- Action needed: None. Registration may take up to seven working days.
Tip: Keep PAN, Aadhaar, and contact details updated to reduce the chances of your KYC going on hold or being rejected.
