What happens if one of my legs is rejected in a basket order?

What happens if one of my legs is rejected in FYERS Basket mode through the Option Chain?

When you place a basket order through the Option Chain, each leg is sent to the exchange in a sequence designed to require the lowest margin.

If one or more legs are rejected, the remaining legs continue as per the sequence. As a result, some legs may be executed while others may remain Pending or show as Rejected.

Order processing timeline

After the basket is submitted, each leg is processed separately and sent to the exchange for execution. A success message may be shown once the basket is submitted.

  • Check the Orders section to view live, pending, or rejected orders, along with the rejection reason.
  • Check the Portfolio section to view any positions created from executed legs.

Steps to access on FYERS

  1. Go to the Orders section.
  2. Open the rejected leg and check the rejection reason.
  3. For a price or quantity issue, update the required details and place the order again.
  4. For a funds issue, add funds and review the margin requirement before placing the order again.
  5. Check the Portfolio section because other legs from the basket may already be executed.
  6. Based on your open positions, you can place the rejected leg again or adjust the executed legs to manage risk.
For more information on common Options order rejection reasons, refer to Options order rejection reasons in FYERS.
