What are Exchange Traded Funds (ETF’s)?

Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) offer a low-cost and flexible way to invest in a diversified set of securities. They are similar to Mutual Funds in structure but are traded on exchanges just like regular stocks.

What is an ETF?

An ETF is a basket of securities—such as stocks, commodities, or bonds—that trades on a stock exchange. Unlike Mutual Funds, ETFs are not bought or sold at NAV (Net Asset Value) once a day. Instead, they are traded throughout the day at market prices during live market hours.

ETFs can be used to invest in:

  • Broad indices like NIFTY 50 or Sensex
  • Sector-specific baskets (e.g., banking, pharma)
  • Gold or commodity-based funds
  • Government or corporate bond portfolios

How can I trade ETFs on FYERS?

  • ETFs can be bought or sold from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM on trading days via FYERS Web or Mobile.
  • They are traded in the equity segment, just like regular stocks.
  • All ETF orders are settled in T+1, and units reflect under your Holdings tab once credited.
