At FYERS, we provide access to a wide range of securities listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). However, the tradability of each scrip depends on the exchange series it belongs to. Certain series are fully enabled for trading and investing, while others are restricted due to regulatory, liquidity, or surveillance reasons.
Understanding Scrip Series
Each stock or security listed on the exchange is categorized under a specific series, which defines how it can be traded. Here’s a breakdown of the most common ones:
| Series | Description | FYERS Availability |
|---|
| EQ | Equity series allowing delivery and intraday trading | Fully tradable & investable |
| BE | Trade-to-trade series where intraday trading is restricted | Available for delivery only |
| BZ / IL / BL / Z / XT | Restricted or surveillance categories under exchange watchlist | Not enabled for trading |
| SM | SME stocks listed under the Small and Medium Enterprises platform | Not supported on FYERS |
These restrictions are applied in line with exchange regulations and risk management frameworks to protect investors and ensure compliance.
Important: Scrips in BZ, Z, XT, IL, BL or similar restricted series are not available for trading or investment at FYERS. These restrictions are exchange-driven and not controlled by FYERS.
Segments Enabled at FYERS
Here’s an overview of market segments currently enabled across FYERS platforms:
- Equity Segment: Trading and investing in approved NSE & BSE stocks (EQ/BE series)
- Equity Derivatives (F&O): Trading in NSE-listed Futures and Options contracts
- Commodities: Trading in MCX-listed commodity contracts
- Mutual Funds: Investments via the FYERS Direct platform
Note: The Currency Derivatives segment is currently in square-off mode in line with RBI and FEMA regulations (effective April 2024). We will notify all clients once further clarification is received.
How to Check if a Scrip Is Enabled
At FYERS, you can easily confirm a scrip’s trading eligibility through our platforms:
- FYERS Web: Search for the scrip and check for active Buy/Sell buttons. If disabled, the series may not be supported.
- FYERS App: Use the search bar to locate the scrip and review its exchange series before placing an order.
- FYERS Trader: Check the scrip details or contract info section for the active series (EQ/BE).
Tip: You can download the latest list of enabled NSE & BSE scrip series from the attachment available below this article to verify what’s tradable and investable through FYERS.
What If...
| Scenario | Explanation |
|---|
| I search for a stock but don’t see a Buy or Sell option | It may belong to a disabled or restricted series. Check its series (BZ, Z, XT, IL, etc.) or refer to the enabled list. |
| I want to invest in an SME or Z-category stock | SME and Z-category stocks are generally not available on FYERS due to liquidity and compliance risks. Refer to the enabled scrip series document for details. |
| I want to confirm if a newly listed IPO scrip is available | IPO scrips become tradable once listed under an approved series like EQ. Check its exchange series post-listing. |
| I’m unsure whether a particular scrip or series is enabled | If you have any questions about tradable or restricted scrips, please contact our support team and we’ll confirm its eligibility for you. |
