How to hold F&O positions until expiry in FYERS?

To hold a Futures & Options (F&O) position beyond the same trading day and carry it until expiry, you need to select the Overnight product type when placing your order in FYERS.

If you placed your F&O order under Intraday, you can convert it to Overnight from the Positions tab before the intraday square-off time.

Steps to convert intraday to overnight

  1. Go to the Positions tab.
  2. Select the F&O position you want to convert.
  3. Choose the option to Convert to Overnight.
  4. Confirm the conversion and ensure sufficient margin is available.

Notes

  1. F&O orders placed under Intraday will generally be auto squared-off from 3:25 PM if they are not converted to Overnight. The square-off time may be extended up to 3:30 PM depending on market volume and operational requirements.
  2. Ensure you meet the margin requirements for Overnight F&O positions to avoid penalties or auto square-off.
