How Do Mail Alerts Work, and What Inputs Are Required?

The mail alert action in Automate sends an email notification when an automation reaches a specific step. It is used to notify you about important automation events, signals, or conditions via email.

This action is informational only and does not place, modify, cancel orders, or affect positions.

How do mail alerts work?

When a mail alert action node is executed:

  • An email is sent to your registered email ID.
  • The email contains an Alert title (subject) and an Alert description (email body).
  • The automation continues to the next connected node after sending the email.
  • No trading or account-related action is performed by this node.

Steps to set up mail alert action in Automate

Use the steps below when creating a new automation from scratch.

  • Log in to FYERS Web and go to Automate → Dashboard.
  • Click Create automation.
  • In the workflow canvas, add the required start, trigger, or condition nodes.
  • In the left panel, open the Actions tab.
  • Expand Mail alert.
  • Drag and drop the Send email alert onto the canvas.
  • Click the mail alert node to open Edit node configuration.
  • Enter the following details:
    • Alert title – The subject line of the email.
    • Alert description – The message content of the email.
  • Click Apply to save the configuration.
  • Click Validate to ensure the automation has no errors.
  • After successful validation, click Run now or schedule the automation.

The email is sent only when the automation reaches this node during execution.
