Cash Provisional vs Cash : what’s the difference, and where do I see them in FYERS?
In the FII/DII activity module you will see two cash views: Cash – Provisional and Cash – Final.
They serve different needs. Provisional is the fast, same-day view; Final is the confirmed, settled view with more detail.
Quick difference
- Cash – Provisional: Same-day numbers released during market hours. Equity cash only. Meant for a quick directional read.
- Cash – Final: Confirmed numbers after settlement (arrives with a delay). Includes Equity and Debt split with gross buy/sell and net values.
FYERS Web
Path: Markets → Analytics → FII/DII activity
- Set the Timeframe: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
- Open Segment and select Cash.
Use the Detailed activity table:
- Tap Cash provisional for today’s quick view (equity only).
- Tap FII cash / MF cash for Cash (Final) with Equity and Debt columns.
FYERS App
Path: Markets → Analytics → FII/DII Activity
- Choose Daily, Weekly, or Monthly at the top.
- Tap the filter icon (top-right) → Segments → select Cash → Apply.
- Scroll below the chart to the Detailed activity table and switch between Cash provisional and FII cash / MF cash to view Final.
When to use which
- Use Provisional when you need a same-day sense of direction (intraday or short-term read).
- Use Final when you want verified totals, Equity vs Debt breakup, and clean history for Weekly/Monthly analysis.
Notes
- Provisional can differ from Final. Provisional is fast and equity-only; Final is settled and includes debt.
- Final posts with a delay (typically T+1 to T+3). Today’s confirmed numbers may not be available yet.
- The chart shows net flows; the table gives gross buy, gross sell, and net. Use the table for exact figures.
What if…
| Situation | What to do / How to read it |
|---|
| Today’s table shows Provisional but Final is blank | Final arrives after settlement. Use Cash provisional for today; check FII cash/MF cash later for confirmed totals and Equity/Debt split. |
| Provisional and Final numbers don’t match | This is normal. Provisional is equity-only and can be revised; Final is settled and includes debt, so totals change. |
| Debt column in Final swings sharply | Debt flows are part of Final but not in Provisional. Read Equity and Debt together to understand the day’s total cash activity. |
| Weekly/Monthly totals look different from daily sums | Aggregation follows your selected range and view. Use Final for cleaner historical comparisons. |
