Will DDPI charges be applicable if I initiate the process but do not complete it?
Yes, DDPI (Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction) charges will still be applicable even if you do not complete the e-sign process. This is because the charge is triggered at the point when the DDPI process is initiated—not upon e-sign completion.
Why are charges applied?
- Once you start the DDPI setup, stamp paper is generated in your name
- FYERS incurs this backend cost as soon as the initiation begins
- Therefore, the fee becomes applicable regardless of e-sign completion
What if I change my mind mid-process?
- If you abandon the process after initiating but before e-signing, the charges still apply
- You won't need to pay again if you decide to activate DDPI later
DDPI is a one-time setup. Once paid, you won’t be charged again—even if you activate it later.
What if...
Scenario | Outcome |
---|
I initiate DDPI and then cancel before e-sign | Charges are still applicable due to stamp paper issuance. |
I activate DDPI later | No additional charges—you’re already covered. |
I never use DDPI | The one-time fee remains non-refundable, but you can activate anytime. |
