Why does my Bracket Order target change automatically on FYERS?
When you place a target that exceeds the Limit Price Protection (LPP) level, the system automatically adjusts your target to the upper limit of the LPP. This prevents your order from being executed at an unintended price.
For example:
- You place a buy Bracket Order (BO) at ₹500.
- You set a stop loss (SL) at ₹490 and a target at ₹600.
- If the LPP for that stock is ₹550, your target will be automatically modified to ₹550.
This adjustment happens because orders placed beyond the LPP would be rejected by the exchange. Since the BO depends on both SL and target, rejecting the target would result in the position closing immediately after entry. To avoid this, we have implemented the modification, ensuring seamless order placement.
Note: Once the price moves in your favour, you can modify the target again as the new LPP will be determined.
