Why does a sell from holdings show up in the ‘Positions’ tab on FYERS?
When you sell shares from your holdings on FYERS, the transaction may temporarily show up under the ‘Positions’ tab as a sell position for the day. Kindly ignore the particular sell position — this is part of FYERS’ display mechanism and is only for tracking purposes.
Key things to know:
-
The position is temporary: It shows up only on the same day the shares are sold.
-
No action is required: You don’t need to square off or manually close this position.
-
Automatically cleared by end of day (EOD): The system will automatically remove this position after market close.
-
P&L changes are provisional: Any intraday profit or loss (P&L) shown is not final and will be adjusted once the trade settles.
-
Avoid manual exit: If you try to close this position manually, it will place an intraday sell order, which is unnecessary and may cause confusion.
Note: This is just a display mechanism and does not impact your actual holdings or realised P&L.
