Challenges in Withdrawing Funds from FYERS

Why Can't I Withdraw Despite Having a Ledger Balance?

Seeing funds in your ledger but unable to withdraw? This can happen due to settlement timelines. Here's what you need to know about when your funds actually become eligible for withdrawal.

Understanding Ledger Balance vs Withdrawable Balance

Ledger Balance: Total funds in your trading account, including recent profits.
Withdrawable Balance: Funds that are fully settled and eligible for withdrawal.

The difference is based on the settlement cycle—funds from trades don’t instantly become withdrawable.

Why Your Ledger Balance May Not Be Withdrawable Yet

ScenarioWhat’s Happening
Recently sold equitiesFunds are under T+1 settlement. You'll be able to withdraw them the next trading day.
Closed derivatives positions (F&O/CDS/MCX)Margins or profits from these segments also follow a T+1 release cycle.
Intraday square-offsEven intraday profits are subject to T+1 settlement before they become withdrawable.

India follows a T+1 rolling settlement cycle for both equities and derivatives.

What You Can Do

  • Check your Withdrawable Balance in the Funds & Margin section.
  • Wait until the next trading day for newly credited amounts to become withdrawable.
  • Avoid placing withdrawal requests immediately after closing positions or selling holdings.

What If...

ScenarioSolution
Ledger balance shows funds, but I can't withdrawWait for T+1 settlement to complete. Use the Withdrawable Balance for accurate reference.
I sold stocks today and need funds immediatelyFunds will only become available after settlement on the next trading day.
I closed F&O/MCX positions todayFunds from these positions follow T+1 cycle as well—check your balance the next day.
Tip: Always refer to the Withdrawable Balance—not the Ledger Balance—when planning fund withdrawals.
