How To Gift Stocks on FYERS?

FYERS allows you to gift stocks, ETFs, and mutual funds securely through the My Account portal. This guide explains how the gifting process works, when gifted securities appear in the receiver’s holdings, and the maximum number of stocks you can gift in a single transaction.

Gifting procedure on FYERS

If the giftee already has a FYERS account

  1. Log in to My Account and go to Gifts.
  2. Enter the giftee’s PAN or registered mobile number and click Continue.
  3. Review and confirm the masked details shown for security.
  4. Select the stocks, ETFs, or mutual funds you wish to gift and choose the quantity.
  5. Review the summary, add an optional message, and proceed.
  6. After market hours, you will receive a CDSL authorisation link via SMS and email.
  7. Authorise the transaction using the OTP sent by CDSL.
  8. The gifting request is then initiated.
  9. Track the transfer under the Status tab until it is completed.

Note: The recipient must be added as a beneficiary on CDSL before the transfer can be authorised.

If the giftee does not have a FYERS account

  1. Start the gifting flow and enter the giftee’s PAN or mobile number.
  2. The system will notify you that they are not a FYERS client.
  3. Enter their details to refer them to open an account with FYERS.
  4. Once their account is opened and linked to you, restart the gifting process from the beginning.

When do gifted stocks reflect in the receiver’s holdings?

After the CDSL authorisation is completed, FYERS processes the holdings file at the end of the day. The gifted stocks may take up to 24 working hours to appear in the receiver’s demat holdings.

Limit on the number of stocks you can gift

You can gift up to 100 stocks or symbols (equity shares, ETFs, or mutual funds) in a single transaction, regardless of quantity. Only free, unpledged holdings are eligible for gifting, and pledged securities cannot be included.
