Why are stop loss and target options not available for overnight trades in Quick Trade?
Quick Trade’s Stop Loss (SL) and Target features are designed only for Intraday orders on FYERS Trader (https://trade.fyers.in/). These exit levels are disabled for Overnight positions because price movements outside trading hours can be unpredictable. Large gaps between the market close and the next day’s open may cause SL or Target levels to be skipped or executed incorrectly.
How to manage Overnight positions
If you carry positions overnight, Quick Trade will not allow you to predefine SL or Target. Instead:
- Place your Overnight order normally.
- After execution, add manual Stop Loss and Target orders separately.
- Monitor positions closely as volatility and gap risk are higher in Overnight trades.
For details on how SL and Target are set in Quick Trade for Intraday, refer to this article.

What if...
Scenario | Outcome |
---|
You try to set SL/Target while selecting Overnight | The SL and Target fields will remain disabled. |
You place Overnight without manual SL/Target | Your position stays unprotected until you manually add exit orders. |
You expect CO/BO to work for Overnight | Not supported — Cover and Bracket Orders are available only for Intraday Quick Trade. |
Tip: Always add manual SL and Target orders immediately after entering an Overnight trade to reduce risk.
