Wait time is a Trigger type in FYERS Automate that pauses an automation before it moves to the next step. It is used when your strategy needs to wait for a specific amount of time or until a specific clock time is reached. This trigger does not place any orders by itself.
Wait time is commonly used to control timing in an automation, such as adding a delay after an order, or ensuring certain actions happen only after a specific market time.
Wait duration pauses the automation for a fixed amount of time. The countdown starts from the moment the automation reaches the Wait time trigger.
Example: If you set Wait duration to 300 seconds, the automation waits for 5 minutes and then continues to the next step.
Wait till pauses the automation until a specific clock time is reached. The automation resumes exactly at that time.
Example: If you set Wait till to 10:00 AM and the automation reaches this trigger at 9:35 AM, it waits and continues at 10:00 AM.
Wait time is configured on the canvas by selecting the Wait time trigger, choosing either Wait duration or Wait till, and entering the required time value.
| Scenario | What happens |
|---|---|
| I want to wait 2 minutes after placing an order | Use Wait duration and set it to 120 seconds. |
| I want my strategy to act only after 9:30 AM | Use Wait till and set the time to 9:30 AM. |
| The automation reaches Wait till after the set time | The wait is skipped and the automation continues immediately. |
