What is the Sector heatmap view and when should I use it?
The Sector heatmap shows how each sector index (e.g., NIFTYIT, NIFTYBANK) has performed over a chosen time period.
Each block is a sector. The colour and the % label on each block change when you switch the time period at the top.
What you see
- Time chips at the top: 1D chg %, 1W chg %, 1M chg %, 3M chg % (and more as you scroll). The chip you select controls the colour and % shown.
- Heatmap / Bubble chart toggle on the top-right.
- Exchange pill/dropdown (e.g., NSE).
- Sector blocks sized by their sector weight (fixed on this market view).
FYERS App
- Go to Markets › Analytics › Sector heatmap.
- Tap a time chip to change the period.
- (Optional) Use the top-right toggle to switch between Heatmap and Bubble chart.
- (Optional) Tap the NSE pill to change the exchange.
- Drill deeper: Tap any sector block to open that sector’s detailed treemap (industries and stocks).
FYERS Web
- Open Analytics › Sector heatmap.
- Click a time chip to see sector performance for that period.
- (Optional) Toggle to Bubble chart for a different visual.
- (Optional) Change the exchange from the dropdown.
- Drill deeper: Click a sector block (e.g., NIFTYIT) to open that sector’s detailed view grouped by industries and stocks.
Notes
- On this market-level screen, block size is fixed by sector weight — there is no Block size selector.
- Colour here comes from the selected time chip — there is no separate Block colour picker.
- Need more controls? Open a sector to view its stocks grouped by industries; that page has adjustable Block size and Block colour.
What if...
| Scenario | Action |
|---|
| I want a longer/shorter performance window | Tap/click another time chip (e.g., switch from 1D to 1M or 6M). |
| Colours didn’t change when I tapped | Make sure the chip is highlighted; it drives colours and % labels. |
| I want to see stocks inside one sector | Tap/click that sector block to open the sector view with industries and stocks (there you can use Block size and Block colour). |
| Block sizes look fixed | That’s expected here; sizes reflect sector weights. Use the sector view for adjustable block sizing. |
| I prefer a different visual | Use the Heatmap / Bubble chart toggle on the top-right. |
