MTF Interest Rates Explained - FYERS

What is the interest rate for Margin Trading Facility (MTF) in FYERS?

If you’re using Margin Trading Facility (MTF), it’s important to understand how interest is charged on your borrowed amount. We apply a slab-wise interest rate based on your total borrowed amount on any given day. This structure ensures transparency and helps you manage your trading costs effectively.

MTF Interest Rate Slabs

We calculate interest daily, even though rates are expressed annually. The applicable rate is determined based on your total borrowed amount for that day:

Total Borrowed Amount (Any Day)Annual Interest RateDaily Interest Rate (approx.)
Up to ₹1,0000%0%
₹1,000.01 – ₹1,00,00016.49%0.0452%
₹1,00,000.01 – ₹10,00,00015.49%0.0424%
₹10,00,000.01 – ₹25,00,00014.49%0.0397%
₹25,00,000.01 – ₹50,00,00012.49%0.0342%

Note: Only one slab rate applies on any given day based on your total borrowed amount. The rate is not split across slabs.

How Interest Is Calculated

  • Interest is calculated daily based on your total borrowed amount.
  • The applicable slab rate is applied to the full borrowed amount.
  • We post the interest charges to your MTF ledger weekly.

Examples

  • If your total borrowed amount is ₹1,000, no interest is charged (0% slab).
  • If your total borrowed amount is ₹1,100, interest is applied at 0.0452% per day, resulting in a daily charge of approximately ₹0.50.
  • If your total borrowed amount is ₹50,00,000, interest is applied at 0.0342% per day, resulting in a daily charge of approximately ₹1710.

Does the Rate Change Based on Trade Duration?

No. The interest rate is determined only by your total borrowed amount on a given day. It does not vary based on the duration of your trade—whether intraday, BTST, swing, or long-term.
