What is the Advanced section in the order window used for?

When you're placing an order on FYERS, the Advanced section gives you additional control over how that order is submitted to the exchange. These optional settings let you manage how much of your order is visible in the market, how long it remains active, and add custom notes for internal tracking.

Available options in the Advanced section

Disclosed Quantity

This controls how much of your total order is visible in the market. The remaining quantity stays hidden until the disclosed part is filled.

Example: If you're placing an order for 500 shares and set the disclosed quantity to 100, only 100 shares will be shown in the order book at any time.

Validity

This defines how long your order remains active:

  • Day: The order stays active for the entire trading session and expires at market close if not filled.
  • IOC (Immediate or Cancel): The order attempts to execute immediately. Any unfilled portion is cancelled right away.

Order Tag

This is a custom label you can apply to an order for tracking or organizing purposes. It does not affect order execution but appears in your order reports.

Example: You might tag an order as BTST Exit or Intraday Long for strategy reference.

How to access the Advanced section

Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the FYERS order window to expand the Advanced section and view or edit these fields.

Default behavior if not configured

  • The entire order quantity will be disclosed.
  • Order validity will default to Day.
  • No order tag will be applied.
