What is strategy in InstaOptions?

Strategy in InstaOptions is a section that allows you to create, simulate, and execute various options strategies with ease and efficiency. You can either select from a list of readymade strategies or create their own custom strategies by adding different options contracts. Here's an overview:


The strategy section includes:
  1. Combined premium charts: You can the combined premium of all the options contracts in your strategy on the TradingView charts. It helps you to track the changes in the premium value over time and compare it with the underlying price movement.

  1. Pay-off Chart: This section graphically displays the potential profit or loss and risk-reward profile of an options strategy for different scenarios of underlying price movement and time decay. It can help you evaluate the performance and feasibility of your strategy.

  1. Multi-Strike OI: It shows the open interest (OI) and price of options contract in the selected strategy in a line graph. You can analyze and compare change in open interest between the options contracts. You can also toggle between the OI and the premium price.

  1. Pay-Off Simulation: This section shows the profit or loss, risk-reward ratio, premium, and break even points of the selected strategy at expiration. They are calculated based on the pay-off, strike price, and premium of the options contracts in the selected strategy.


  1. Strategy Greeks: It shows the delta, gamma, theta, vega, and rho of the selected options strategy. These are the sensitivity measures that indicate how the selected strategy will react to changes in various factors such as underlying price, time, volatility, and interest rate.

  1. Default strategies: This section provides a list of readymade strategies that users can directly select and execute based on their view i.e., bullish, bearish and neutral. Some of the default strategies are Long Call, Short Put, Bull Call Spread, Bear Put Spread, Long Straddle, Short Strangle, etc.
