What happens if my FIA prompt is incomplete or unclear?

FIA needs enough information to translate your trading rules into valid Automate logic. If a required detail is missing or a request has more than one reasonable interpretation, FIA can ask a targeted follow-up question.

Automation creation pauses for the affected logic until the required information is provided.

When can FIA ask for more information?

A follow-up may be required when:

  • A required trigger or trigger setting is missing.
  • The instrument or symbol is unclear.
  • A condition is incomplete.
  • An action requires additional configuration.
  • Timing or frequency has not been specified where it is required.
  • The prompt can reasonably be interpreted in more than one way.
  • A trading parameter that affects execution has not been defined.

For example:

“Trade NIFTY when it breaks out.”

This may not provide enough information to determine what constitutes the breakout or when it should be evaluated. FIA can ask for those details before adding the corresponding logic.

Do I need to repeat the entire strategy?

No.

Answer the follow-up question with the missing or corrected information. FIA retains the context of the current automation conversation.

If you want to revise the original rule instead, state the new requirement clearly.

Why doesn't FIA fill in missing trading rules?

Values such as quantity, timing, trigger criteria, instruments, or exits can materially change the strategy.
