What happens if an MTF stock changes from EQ to BE after taking a position?

What happens if an MTF stock changes from EQ to BE after taking a position?

If you have taken an MTF position in a stock and its category later changes from EQ to BE, the stock can no longer continue under the MTF product type. This is because MTF is available only for stocks in the EQ category.

In such cases, FYERS takes specific system actions so the client can still exit the position correctly.

How it works:

  • The client takes a position in a stock under MTF while it is in the EQ category.
  • The stock category later changes from EQ to BE or another non-EQ category.
  • FYERS blocks 100% of the required funds in the client’s account.
  • The system does not allow a sell order under MTF for that stock anymore.
  • FYERS adds the same stock to the client’s holdings.
  • The client can then sell it using the Overnight/Delivery product type.
  • The MTF position is netted off by the end of the day.

What If...

ScenarioWhat happens
What if I try to sell the stock using the MTF product type after the category change? The system will not allow the sell order under the MTF product type.
What if I want to exit the position after the category change?FYERS will add the same stock to the client’s holdings, so it can be sold using the Overnight/Delivery product type.
