What does the Universe filter mean in Company Filings, and how does it work?

The Universe setting controls which set of stocks are shown in the Company filings section. It decides which companies’ announcements appear in the list based on the index, category, or your own stocks.

Explanation

  • Universe acts as a filter for company announcements.
  • Only companies that belong to the selected universe will be shown.
  • Changing the universe updates the entire list instantly.

What does a universe include?

  • Nifty 50: Only companies that are part of the Nifty 50 index.
  • BSE SENSEX: Only companies listed in the Sensex.
  • Nifty 500: All companies that are part of the Nifty 500 index.
  • Sectoral indices: Companies belonging to a specific sector (like Bank, IT, Pharma).
  • Thematic indices: Companies grouped by themes (like PSU, Infra, Consumption).
  • My stocks: Companies from your Portfolio, Open positions, or Watchlist.

What is excluded?

  • Companies that are not part of the selected index or list.
  • Stocks outside your portfolio or watchlist when using My stocks.
  • Announcements from companies that do not belong to the chosen universe.
