T1 quantity refers to shares that you have purchased but that are still awaiting settlement. Since these shares have not yet been credited to your Demat account, they are shown separately in your Holdings with a T1 .
This helps you identify which shares are settled and which shares are still in the settlement process.
Meaning of T1 quantity
When you buy equity shares, they do not get credited to your Demat account immediately. Shares purchased on a trading day are usually credited on the next trading day, based on the applicable settlement cycle.
Until the shares are credited to your Demat account, the purchased quantity is shown as T1 quantity. Once the settlement is completed, the T1 tag is automatically removed and the shares become part of your regular holdings.
Where T1 quantity appears
You can view T1 quantity under the Stocks section in Holdings. The unsettled quantity is marked with a T1 label so that you can distinguish it from your settled holdings.
Selling T1 shares
The ability to sell T1 shares depends on whether the stock is eligible for the BTST. BTST stands for Buy Today, Sell Tomorrow, which allows eligible shares to be sold before they are fully credited to your Demat account.
If BTST is not available for the stock, you can sell the shares only after they are credited to your Demat account.
Pledging T1 quantity
T1 shares cannot be pledged because the settlement process is still pending. Only shares that have been credited to your Demat account are eligible for pledging or use as collateral.
Settlement timelines may vary if there is a market holiday or settlement holiday.

If T1 shares are not credited on the next trading day
In most cases, shares are credited on the next trading day. However, the credit may be delayed if there is a market holiday, settlement holiday, or any settlement-related delay.
Once the shares are credited to your Demat account, the T1 indicator will be removed automatically.
