What do terms like Invested, Current, Today’s P&L, and Total P&L mean?

At FYERS Holdings tab shows key values that help you track how your investments are performing. These values show the amount invested, the current value of your holdings, and the profit or loss on your portfolio.

In the Holdings section, you may see terms such as Invested, Current, Today’s P&L, Total P&L, Buy Avg, LTP, and T1 Quantity. Here’s what each term means.

Key terms explained

Invested is the total purchase value of your holding. For stocks, it is calculated using the buy average and quantity. This value excludes brokerage, taxes, statutory charges, and other fees.

Current is the current market value of your holding. For stocks, it is based on the latest traded price, also known as LTP. For mutual funds, it is based on the latest available NAV.

Total P&L is the total unrealised profit or loss on your holding. It shows the difference between the current value and the invested value. It is called unrealised because the holding has not been sold yet.

Today’s P&L shows the profit or loss for the current trading day only. It helps you understand how much the value of your holding has changed during the day and resets daily.

Total P&L remains unrealised while the holding is still in your portfolio. It becomes realised only after you sell the holding.
