FYERS MCP allows your AI assistant to securely access a wide range of trading and portfolio data from your FYERS account. These connections enable AI platforms like Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf to respond with relevant, real-time answers based on your actual holdings, trades, and alerts.
What is FYERS MCP?
FYERS MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a lightweight, secure integration layer that connects your FYERS account to AI platforms. It syncs your portfolio and market data into your assistant so it can handle personalised queries—without coding or complex setups.
Rather than generic answers, your AI assistant can understand your live context—such as open positions, available funds, or top gainers—making every response actionable and relevant.
Supported FYERS MCP connections
Once installed and authorised, FYERS MCP exposes the following data endpoints to your AI platform:
- Funds: Fetch available balance, utilised margin, and total funds.
- Holdings: View current equity and mutual fund holdings with quantity, average cost, and P&L.
- Indus history (historic data): Pull historical price series for stocks and indices for use in analysis or backtesting.
- Option chain: Access real-time option chain data for derivatives trading.
- Orders: Retrieve all past, open, and GTT (Good Till Triggered) orders.
- Positions: View current intraday and delivery positions across all segments.
- Price alerts: Create, view, and delete price-based alerts directly via AI commands.
- Trade book: Access a log of executed trades for the current or past trading sessions.
- Login & Logout user: Securely authenticate or disconnect the FYERS account from your AI platform.
What can your AI assistant do with this?
Here are just a few examples of how these connections translate into intelligent, context-aware AI interactions:
- “What’s my current P&L today?”
- “Set a price alert if HDFC crosses ₹2,000”
- “Show me my exposure in banking stocks”
- “Pull the option chain for NIFTY 50”
- “What were my top gainers this month?”
- “List all trades executed today”
Your assistant uses these connections to offer both snapshot summaries and in-depth analysis—without requiring you to manually dig into reports or dashboards.
FYERS MCP is read-only. It does not support placing orders, modifying trades, or initiating fund transfers through AI platforms.
What If...
Scenario | What to Do |
---|
A data type is missing in your AI assistant | Ensure FYERS MCP is fully installed and authorised. Some platforms may require a restart or re-authentication. |
AI gives incomplete or generic responses | Check if your MCP session is active. If not, re-run the installer and authorise your account again. |
Historic data (Indus history) is not loading | This may occur temporarily during sync. Try again after a short wait or relaunch the AI platform. |
