What are the trading hours for a stock on its IPO listing day?

When a stock is listed on the exchange after its IPO, regular trading begins at 10:00 AM and continues until 3:30 PM.

Before regular trading starts, the exchange conducts a pre-open session from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. This session allows orders to be collected and matched to determine the stock’s opening price.

The listing-day schedule is as follows:

TimeWhat happens?
9:00 AM to 9:35 AMYou can place, modify, or cancel limit orders for newly listed IPO stocks and re-listed instruments.
9:35 AM to 9:45 AMYou can continue to place, modify, or cancel limit orders. The exchange may randomly close the order entry period at any time during this window. Once it closes, the order matching process begins immediately.
9:45 AM to 9:55 AMThe exchange matches eligible buy and sell orders to determine the stock’s opening price. You cannot place, modify, or cancel orders during this period.
9:55 AM to 10:00 AMThis is the buffer period before regular trading begins. No order activity is allowed during this time.
10:00 AM to 3:30 PMRegular market trading begins. You can place, modify, or cancel orders as per normal market hours.

Example: If the exchange closes the order entry period at 9:40 AM, order matching begins immediately after the closure instead of waiting until 9:45 AM.
