How To Use Group By To Organise Positions in FYERS?
The group by feature helps you organise your open and closed positions into clear clusters, such as by P&L, product type, or symbol type.
This makes it easier to scan, compare, and analyse your portfolio without going through each position line by line.
You can use 'Group by' on both FYERS App and FYERS Web with the same grouping options.
How Group By works?
Group by arranges your positions into expandable groups based on the category you select. You can switch between these categories at any time to change how your positions are organised.
- Status – All/Open/Closed
- P&L – In profit/In loss
- Underlying – Stock/Index
- Products – Intraday/Overnight/MTF
- Symbol type – Equity/Options/Futures
Closed positions remain visible under Status → Closed until the end of the trading day (EOD).
Steps to use group by
On FYERS App
- Go to Portfolio → Positions.
- Tap Group by.
Select how you want to organise your positions:
- Status
- P&L
- Underlying
- Products
- Symbol type
On FYERS Web
- Go to Portfolio → Positions.
- Click the Group by dropdown at the top of the positions list.
- Choose from Status, P&L, Underlying, Products, or Symbol type.
Use the search bar along with Group by to quickly locate specific positions inside a group.
What If…
| Scenario | Solution |
|---|
| Group by menu not visible | Ensure you are on the Positions tab. On Web, check the Group by dropdown above the positions table. |
| A group shows no items | The selected category currently has no positions (for example, no MTF trades). Switch to another grouping or select Status → All. |
| Want to return to a flat list | Select Status and keep All selected to remove grouping and view a flat list of positions. |
| Counts don’t match expectations | Filters such as Status (Open/Closed) or an active search keyword may be applied. Clear all filters to see every position. |
