How to set up Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) in FYERS?

Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) is a unique password generated by an Authenticator app, valid for about 30 seconds. Distinct from the conventional OTPs received via SMS or Email, TOTP bolsters your account's security. The Authenticator app continually refreshes the OTP every 30 seconds, granting an additional layer of protection.

Setting up TOTP in FYERS:
  1. Access 'My Account' and select 'Manage Account' located under your profile.
  2. Scroll down and select 'Others'.
  3. Find 'External 2FA TOTP' and click 'Enable'. A QR code will appear, accompanied by instructions.
  4. Launch your preferred Authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy) on your smartphone.
  5. Opt for 'Scan a QR code' within the 'Add an Account' section and give camera permissions.
  6. Scan the QR code shown in 'My Account'. A 6-digit TOTP, valid for 30 seconds, will generate. Key in this TOTP and your PIN.
  7. Click 'Enable', and you've successfully set up your TOTP
Note: Once TOTP is enabled, you must use the same mobile authenticator app whenever you login.
