How to Set Up Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) in FYERS?
Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) is a unique 6-digit code generated by an Authenticator app, valid for about 30 seconds. Unlike SMS or Email OTPs, TOTP refreshes automatically in the app, providing an extra layer of security for your FYERS account.
On FYERS App
- Log in to the FYERS App.
- Tap Menu (☰) → Profile.
- Go to the Others section.
- Find External 2FA TOTP and tap Enable.
- A QR code will be displayed on the screen.
- Open your preferred Authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy).
- Select Add Account → Scan QR Code (allow camera access if required).
- Scan the FYERS QR code to link your account.
- A 6-digit TOTP will now appear in your Authenticator app (refreshes every 30 seconds).
- Enter this TOTP and your FYERS PIN, then tap Enable to complete the setup.
On FYERS Web
- Log in at https://fyers.in/web/.
- Click on your Profile icon.
- Go to the Others tab (left-hand side menu).
- Find External 2FA TOTP and click Enable.
- A QR code with setup instructions will appear.
- Open your Authenticator app and select Add Account → Scan QR Code.
- Scan the QR code shown on FYERS Web.
- A 6-digit TOTP will be generated in the app. Enter this code along with your FYERS PIN.
- Click Enable to finish activation.
Important: Once TOTP is enabled, you must always use the same Authenticator app (where you set it up) to log in to FYERS. If you uninstall or lose access to the app, you will need to reset 2FA through support.
Tip: Prefer using Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator for reliability. Always keep backup codes or link the app to your cloud account for easy recovery.
