How to pledge mutual fund investments to get collateral margins on FYERS?
FYERS allows you to pledge eligible mutual fund or equity holdings to generate collateral margin, which can be used for trading in derivatives, currency, or commodity segments—without selling your investments.
Steps to pledge holdings on FYERS
- Log in to FYERS (Web or Mobile).
- Navigate to Portfolio > Holdings > Pledges tab.
Under the Pledgeable section, you'll see a list of eligible securities with:
- Collateral benefit %
- Quantity held and available to pledge
- Estimated collateral value
- Select the fund(s) or stock(s) you want to pledge by adjusting the 'Qty to pledge'.
- Click 'Pledge Holdings' and confirm the pledge request.
Once processed, the collateral value (after haircut) will reflect in your trading account.
What if...
Scenario | Explanation |
---|
You don’t see a fund listed | Only eligible ISINs are displayed under Pledgeable tab. |
You pledged but see no margin | Processing may take time or margin benefit may vary due to haircut. |
You want to unpledge | Go to the 'Pledged' tab and click 'Unpledge'. |
Fund NAV drops | The available margin may reduce based on updated collateral value. |
Always check the 'Coll. benefit' column to estimate your usable margin before pledging.
