No, linking an external Demat account to your FYERS trading account isn’t supported. To trade with FYERS, both the trading and Demat accounts need to be opened with FYERS.
If you already have a trading account, opening a Demat account is quick, fully online, and paperless. You can complete the process through https://signup.fyers.in in under 10 minutes, provided your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar.
These steps apply only if you already have a FYERS Trading account and your Client ID does not start with 'Y'.
Begin the process
Go to www.signup.fyers.in
Enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number
Click “Continue” and verify via OTP
Choose account type
Select whether you're a Resident, NRI, or Corporate account holder.
Email verification
Enter your email ID, receive OTP, and verify.
PAN verification
Enter your PAN details and click Verify.
Aadhaar authentication
Agree to terms and select “Authenticate Aadhaar”
Enter your Aadhaar number
Submit OTP to proceed
Digilocker PIN
Enter your 6-digit Digilocker PIN to authorize data access.
Bank linking
You can:
Use UPI: Scan a QR code and pay ₹1 for validation, or
Enter account number and IFSC code manually
Select trading segments
Equity (NSE/BSE) and Mutual Funds are selected by default
No other segment selection is needed for Demat account alone
Mobile OTP verification
A second OTP is sent to your mobile for confirmation.
Data verification and approval
Click “Verify Account”, enter the OTP, and approve data sharing.
Enter personal details
Provide your occupation, income, and marital status, then accept terms.
Add nominee
Enter nominee details or skip and update later.
Upload selfie and signature
Submit a live selfie and scanned signature file.
E-sign using Aadhaar OTP
Review all information and digitally sign via NSDL’s Aadhaar eSign.
Trading experience (mandatory)
Select your trading experience level and confirm.
Submit application
Your request is submitted and can be tracked via the Dashboard.

If your FYERS Client ID starts with ‘Y’ (e.g., YA12345), the Demat account cannot be opened online. You’ll need to follow the offline route:
